Two pedagogical models to support educators in their digital instructional planning include T-PACK and SAMR (watch the videos which summarizes each model). In brief, T-PACK addresses teacher’s knowledge and technology integration for the purpose of student learning. The T-PACK model connects three critical practices - Content (CK), Pedagogy (PK), and Technology (TK). The image below shows how each knowledge part interconnects with the other and together they support instructional, digital decision-making by educators.
SAMR, like, T-PACK, aim to enhance, maybe even transform, the learning experience to benefit students’ achievement success.
In closing, I would like to propose a challenge to educators in our region to take this opportunity to inquire and experiment with their digital instructional planning. Consider applying either T-Pack or SAMR to your professional work and learning with students. The Integrated Education Service team (IES) team can also support your professional learning through the IES social media groups, such as Facebook, Pinterest, and Twiiter, in addition, consider attending a Model Schools workshop. Regional workshops aim to support your own digital learning and the re-thinking of digital pedagogy to support student learning. Consider how you may re-think your digital pedagogy with the T-PACK and SAMR models along with social media, which can make a difference in any educator’s professional practice.
